Why is it important for diabetic patients to receive statin therapy?
Statins are a type of medicine that bring down cholesterol levels in the blood. The American Diabetes Association, American College of Cardiology, and American Heart Association recommend that patients who have diabetes take statins to help prevent heart disease.
What do the stars mean?
The scores show how well each medical group did at prescribing statins to adults with diabetes between the ages of 40–75 years. The higher score means more patients got the right care at the right time. The scores are based on information from at least 30 medical group patient records in 2021.
