What Was Measured?

The percentage of teenage girls in the health plan, ages 16-18 and sexually active, who were tested for Chlamydia.

Why Is It Important?

Finding sexually transmitted infections — also known as STIs or STDs — like Chlamydia early is the best way to cure them. It also helps keep them from spreading to other people. Young women can use medicine to get rid of the infection. The medicine can help girls avoid complications including pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) that could keep them from being able to get pregnant.

Chlamydia Screening (ages 16 - 18)

Look for differences of at least 4%. Smaller differences usually are not significant.
