What Was Measured?

The percentage of children in the health plan, ages 3-6, who had at least one well-child visit with a primary care doctor.

Why Is It Important?

Well-child visits during the preschool and early school years are used to do many checks to keep your child healthy and deal with health problems. These visits include checking skills like dressing, playing and talking, and seeing if a child has any emotional or learning problems. These visits are a time for parents to learn about how to avoid child injuries and danger, checking a child’s emotional health, learning about good foods and eating habits and other healthy development steps.

Well-Child Visits for Children

Look for differences of at least 4%. Smaller differences usually are not significant.
