Why is coordinated care important?

The best PPOs have primary care doctors, specialists and other health care providers that communicate and work together to provide the best care for you. Doctors from top PPOs will quickly share test results, whether results are normal or not. Your regular doctor should have methods in place to communicate with specialists who you see, know your test results and have records about your medications or other treatments.

How can PPOs make sure that you receive coordinated care?

Highly rated PPOs work with their doctors and medical groups to set up systems to effectively handle and communicate information properly to ensure that your regular doctor is up to date on the status of your health needs and your health care.
